This is an austenitic stainless steel that is chemically similar to 304 but includes the critical addition of Molybdenum (typically 2-3%). The Molybdenum significantly enhances its corrosion resistance, providing superior protection against pitting and crevice corrosion, especially in environments containing chlorides, acids, and brine (salt water).
