Stainless Steel Coil
316Ti Stainless Steel Coil
316Ti Stainless Steel Coil is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel, similar to 316, with a small addition of titanium. The addition of titanium (the 'Ti' in the name) acts as a stabilizer, effectively locking up the carbon content. This process prevents the formation of chromium carbides at grain boundaries when the material is exposed to the sensitization temperature range (425 to 815 Celsius / 800 to 1500 Fahrenheit). This grade is essential for applications requiring the superior general and pitting corrosion resistance of 316 (due to Molybdenum) combined with resistance to intergranular corrosion after prolonged high-temperature exposure or welding, without the need for post-weld annealing. It is typically used in high-temperature exhaust systems, chemical process vessels, and other equipment operating at elevated temperatures.
