Stainless steel bar is a solid, long-form material (round, square, hex, flat) prized for its durability, strength, and corrosion resistance. Bars are foundational stock used to manufacture various components through machining, forging, or drawing. The most common grades are: 304/304L (Austenitic): General purpose, excellent corrosion resistance and weldability. Used for fasteners, shafts, architectural parts, and food processing equipment. 316/316L (Austenitic): "Marine Grade," superior corrosion resistance to chlorides (pitting/crevice). Used for boat fittings, chemical equipment, and medical devices. 410/420 (Martensitic): High strength and hardness after heat treatment. Used for bolts, valve components, and cutlery. 2205/2507 (Duplex): High strength and superior resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Used in demanding oil & gas and marine applications.
