C23000/H85 Brass Bar is solid bar stock made from Red Brass (85% Copper, 15% Zinc). It is highly valued for being the most corrosion-resistant of the common brasses, offering superior resistance to dezincification and stress corrosion cracking in water environments. C23000 bar has a desirable reddish-gold color and boasts excellent cold formability for drawing and machining (though not free-machining). It is commonly used for architectural components, heat exchanger parts, fasteners, and electrical connectors where long-term durability, especially against water corrosion, is essential.
