Alloy Coil
Monel 400 Coil
Monel 400 Coil is a continuous length of thin-gauge nickel-copper alloy (approximately 63−70% Ni, 28−34% Cu) supplied in a rolled configuration (strip or foil). This solid-solution alloy is not heat-treatable for strength, but gains high strength and toughness through cold working. Monel 400 Coil is prized for its excellent corrosion resistance, particularly against rapidly flowing seawater, steam, and hydrofluoric acid, and is immune to chloride ion stress-corrosion cracking. Due to this unique combination of properties, it is extensively used in the marine industry for seawater scrubbers and heat exchangers, as well as for making flexible tubing, shims, seals, springs, and precision electronic components in chemical and petroleum processing equipment.
